Choisissez bien vos mots…

Online Professional Learning Session – Presented Live on January 24, 2022 at 6:30pm (eastern time).  This session will be recorded and available for repeat viewing until August 31, 2022.

Presented by: Winona Montgomery and Christiane Robert, Reading Recovery/IPLÉ Teacher Leaders, Vancouver School Board and Yukon Department of Education

Dr. Marie Clay observed that, “learning to write many different words (at least 40) provides the child with enough generative power to build a much larger writing vocabulary” (2016, p 148). Christiane and Winona will present ways of extending and sustaining your French immersion students’ bank of known spelling words with a view of improving motivation and independence for continuous writing. Inspiration for this workshop arose out of findings from action research with students in the IPLÉ intervention. The presentation will include practical applications for both learning support (resource) and classroom teachers.

This presentation will be delivered in French for Francophone and French Immersion teachers.
